Eng:
I don’t know why do I always come back
To the place where the morning fog is hanging between branches
Where the death willow is taking from water
Petrified and forceful naked body
Like vellum scrolls the bark hangs down,
And the branches like bones from far centuries
It’s time for them to down and burn down
But she stays like a ghost above meadow
Don’t block up, you, illusion, lay into the ground
Let the sun resurrect in new sprouts
Let the lake to look into the grove –
Don’t bounce with bones in a living world
The willow reflecting dead rame
Creaked like a corncrake in grove
When the fierce frost comes, when the earth will die
Then You’ll look on my beauty
Locked up in the ice above lake
Look around on dark earth laws
So, it goes that the death has own truth
Death’s greatness rises from icy fetter
I don’t know why do I always come back
Where the hoary fog is spreading around
Perhaps I believe that the Sun will take a look from water
And Mistress of sorrow and lie will die
Original:
Winter wind blasted atmospheric black metal from the desolate fields of Siberia. Crisp production and an excellent performance. Grima is a must check out for any black metal fan. 8/10 RJ
The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
I don't know about others, but I personally feel melancholic rather than depressed. The atmosphere is so thick that you can cut it with a knife, and after listening to this album (twice in a row), I can safely say that it will not end with two listens Kurt Von Jazzenhoff
Crushing blackened doom from this German band that counterbalances blinding fury with moments of surprising, melancholy melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2023
